Last updated: July 8, 2026RotiCal ("we", "our", or "us") is a calorie and nutrition tracking app built for South Asian food. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We CollectAccount information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. This is used solely to identify your account.Health and goal data
To calculate your calorie and macro targets, we collect the information you provide during setup: age, height, weight, target weight, gender, activity level, and goal type (e.g. losing weight, building muscle). This information is stored in your account and used only to power RotiCal's features.Meal and weight logs
Every meal you log — including food names, serving sizes, calorie estimates, macros, and timestamps — is stored in your account. Weight entries you log over time are also stored.Voice input
When you use voice logging, your microphone audio is transcribed on-device by Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Only the resulting text transcript is sent to our AI service. Audio recordings are never stored or transmitted.Photos
When you use photo logging, the photo you select is sent to Google Cloud Vision to identify food items. The image is transmitted securely and is not stored by RotiCal.Usage data
We track how many times you use AI features (e.g. AI meal logging, AI Forecast, AI Advice) to enforce free-tier limits. These counters are stored in your account and reset daily or weekly.Subscription information

Google AdMob — Non-personalized banner ads (free tier only) — Device type, app activity — no personal identifiers, no cross-app trackingWe use non-personalized ads via AdMob. This means no advertising identifier (IDFA) is accessed and no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown. RotiCal Pro subscribers see no ads.---Data Storage and SecurityYour data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in. We do not store voice audio or photos on our servers.---Your RightsAccess: All your data is visible within the app.Deletion: You can permanently delete your account from the Profile screen. This immediately deletes your Firestore profile, all meal logs, and all weight logs. Your Firebase account is also deleted.Sign-in with Apple token: We are working to implement full server-side Sign in with Apple token revocation in a future update. To fully revoke Apple's records today, go to Settings → Apple ID → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID → RotiCal → Stop Using Apple ID.---ChildrenRotiCal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.---Changes to This PolicyWe will update this page if our data practices change and update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.
